Areaware: The Bow Bins

Uhuru: War Craft

Uhuru is pleased to announce the launch of its third "local materials" line, constructed from reclaimed wood taken from the deck of the decommissioned USS North Carolina, one of the most decorated battleships in U.S. naval history. The series consists of six limited-edition pieces, and Uhuru will produce only ten of each design due to the finite availability of the decking. Brooklyn-based designers and makers Nightwood will be showing their Primitive line of salvaged wood furniture and naturally dyed, hand-painted textiles. The installation features an exotic combination of primal and modern shapes with a rustic sensibility, and includes the Nomad chair, Neptune chair, Mystic coffee table, and a series of new textiles.
