Formerly The Cooper Square Hotel, The Standard, East Village is André Balazs’ 5th Standard Hotel in addition to The Standard group of hotels in New York, Los Angeles and Miami. Located on the corner of East 5th Street and Bowery, the 21 story building offers 145 spacious rooms and suites with sweeping views of Manhattan, thoughtful comforts and stellar service in one of New York’s most exciting neighborhoods. Fourth Arts Block (FAB) is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 by cultural and community groups to establish and advance the East 4th Street Cultural District, between 2nd Avenue and Bowery.  FAB provides a variety of services to its member organizations including leading the development and conversion of 100,000 square feet of cultural space, marketing and promotion of the district, as well as offering discount ticketing and other community events and programs.


The Bowery Hotel, which opened in February 2007, is a leader in the revitalization of the Lower East Side neighborhood. Located on Bowery and 3rd Street, the hotel is home to a warm and welcoming lobby, complete with handpicked antique furnishings, complimentary newspapers, a cozy fireplace, and an outdoor patio. The hotel’s 135 guestrooms offer charming accommodations, including Queen or King beds, custom-made Bowery sheets, floor-to-ceiling windows, Turkish oushak rugs, and C.O. Bigelow toiletries. Adjacent to The Bowery is Gemma, serving rustic Italian fare by Chef Chris D’Amico. Hoteliers Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode own and designed the 14-story property, and also own and operate The Maritime and The Jane hotels in New York City.
